Bianca and I arrived in New York yesterday and immediately retreated to our shared single bed in the Upper West Side – not because we wanted to spend some ~quality~ time together, but because we were exhausted and feeling (characteristically) unadventurous.

After depriving ourselves of any notable sustenances, we proceeded to run around the general vicinity of our accommodationlocation to find a McDonalds void of non-sober humans. After we ate 20 chicken nuggets and an large order of fries, we headed to the Uye Surana‘s showroom with Natalie from La Vagabond Dame (who is also our ~roomie~ for the next couple of days), and then bought some Hot Pockets at Walgreens and called it a night.

Fast forward to today: Millions of texts from my mother regarding the huge snowstorm that Toronto is hurdling through atm, and then experiencing it first hand after leaving the calm/cool/collected shelter of the ~great indoors~ and being slapped repeatedly in the face by #nemo.

At the Williamson showroom with the ladies.

And although the #nemo at hand really has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of clownfish, we still had a really rewarding and fun #NYFWDAY2 in our matching The Ordinary Peoples and then 2) alone to our first show of the season, Rebecca Minkoff.

Though Alyssa was MIA, the Rebecca Minkoff show was a good time and we /super/ liked it a lot. There were many people there including our new friend Yuri from Lookbook.nu, and together, the three of us, (and the cat on Yuri’s sweater), marvelled at the luxurious outerwear, holographic bags, and Rumi Neely’s ..interesting.. furry wig hat.

Our favourite looks from the Minkoff show.

Though we’re currently trapped in a 5-story high-rise building eating cereal for dinner, we are optimistic for tomorrow’s potentially dangerous weather…and cannot wait to blog more serious musings from our experiences here, in the BIG APPLE.
