When you live in the suburbs with nothing but residential streets, mini vans and strip malls at your disposal, it becomes increasingly difficult to find photogenic locations that aren’t heavily populated by curious Asian grandparents. That is why when we find workable scenery, we stick by it – through thick and through thin; not only for the sake of convenience but also for the sake of consistency. (lol jk it’s because we’re lazy).
Unfortunately, the temperatures dropped to a confusing low yesterday evening, and walking with what I would assume to be something along the lines of two left feet (bcuz these Zara shoes are impossible to walk in/subsequently caused me to leave permanent indents in Bianca’s arm), our locational disposition sent us astray and we digressed from our original set; minimizing our North-West coordinate location (what) in favour of a garage door…which, needless to say, was in a much closer proximity to our origin point.
With Bianca’s father in tow, we proceeded to take our standard cross-coordinated/cutesy friendship photos wearing a couple of new printed pieces from Motel and crazy-confusing/awesome bags from Jump From Paper. We’re generally too unmotivated/unskilled to embark on successful tripod shots, so a lot of the time we take photos together, it’s our parents who are tricked into default photographer duties.
However, while we’re on the subject of parentals, I must take the time to commend Mr. Venerayan for remaining surprisingly non-pulsed when we began to initiate a series of action shots including (but not limited to) vigorous running, casual jogging and joyous leaping. Much to the delight of Bianca’s neighbours, these embarrassing photos now exist in combination with cartoon speech bubbles and Roy Lichtenstein-esque “benday” dots.
Relevant/irrelevant: As we stood in front of the garage door, Bianca expressed her keenness in Photoshopping cartoon cars into the photos. I was open to that idea because the prospect of edits that convey semi-believable scenery (no more diamonds on acid or oversized flowers in botanical settings) sounded really great. But alas, no cars…just cart00nz.

I am thoroughly enjoying your blog. I am so glad that I found an enlightening blog from Toronto as most of them are, well, dull. I hope you can check mine out.
This is so AWESOME! I wish I was there to see you both goofing around. Pop art is my fave, so I love a little tribute to Roy Lichtenstein. As to the outfits: very cool! Love the print and I want that bag!
