If you know anything – at all – about Dani and I, you know that the first thing we gravitate towards when shopping is anything and everything printed. I once walked into Opening Ceremony and seriously debated whether or not I should shell out $200 on a certain Gitman Bros. Vintage shirt for my boyfriend, which would be totally acceptable if it was a basic staple piece for his wardrobe. Instead, it had glittery gold polka dots front and back, superimposed over a print of various cute animals (think wide-eyed bunnies and huggable kittens). I left the store coming to a sad realization that my boyfriend – and likely more than half the population – don’t look at shopping the way Dani and I do.

For us, the garments worth investing in are statement pieces. Bold colours and daring silhouettes are always good in our books, but it’s a loud print that never fails to catch our eyes (and our wallets). And, strangely enough, these highly impractical and difficult-to-style duds get the most wear of all the things in our closets. We have no real explanation for this phenomenon, only a large pile of kooky clothing and a weird look from our parents/roommate every time we head out the door.

Lengthy background info aside, Dani and I did some Forever 21 haulin’ this past weekend. The sales associates must’ve thought we were nutty lil’ fruitcakes, filling our shopping bags with only the most retina-searing patterns. We then proceeded to roam the streets of downtown, dazing everyone around us with our live-in-action optical illusion arms and legs. Lucky for you guys, we didn’t mix prints this time around — so you, as an online entity – are hereby spared from the discomfort of visual chaos. You’re welcome.
